Memphis 4-1 Grill

I recently purchased the Memphis grill
I’ve used the electric smoker twice with no issues

When I use the dial to turn on the electric smoker , the indicator light only comes on at max heat, and will only stay running for about 5 mins and kicks out

Any suggestions why this is happening now ?

I did call customer service
I was told it’s too cold
Worked great in the cold Canada temps prior

It won’t stay running today , ans it’s nice outside

They were adamant it was weather related
possible try a blow dryer to help to heat inside

Doesn’t make sense , it ran just fine in much cold weather prior

Or dowse in lighter fluid, and strike a match, that'll warm it up. (just kidding here for those who are the more litigious types).

Besides lighter solution , do you have any suggestions what it might be ?

Sorry, I shouldn't have made fun of your situation. It seemed funnier in my head last night then it does now. I live in SE US where getting below zero is almost a news event.

I would call tech support again, it's an electric smoker. Cold doesn't hurt voltage flow, maybe the dial is bad?

It could be dial, it doesn’t seem to click in until it’s on max heat .. Indicator light won’t come on anyways .. if Dial back it clicks off

This sounds to me like a bade panel or dial. I will take the panel off and make sure everything is contacting correctly, make sure there is nothing is broken or any grease caking the contacts. I smoked this past weekend outside with -9 windchill, no issues. How long have you had it? It should still be under warranty as well
