Just purchased the lockhart platinum series. I've noticed pictures of other platinum series smokers that have the pull handle above the ash removal tray. My lockhart platinum does not have this feature. Am I supposed to have it or is it a new design?

Contacted Pit Boss and found out it was an older model. Returned it to WalMart with no questions asked and got my money back. If I'm going to spend that amount of money, then it needs to be the newest model.
This may be incorrect info. I have a KC Combo (mfr 2021) that I just purchased and it does not have the knob/pullout handle above the ash cleanout tray. I think that wire brush on the end of the handle was a failure. Instead, it looks like the pot is open on the bottom into the pullout tray (in lieu of wire mesh bottom)
It looks like neither the Platinum Brunswick or Platinum Laredo (both newer models) come with the pull handle. I believe that you returned the newest model of the Lockhard

Pitboss customer service was contacted and they are the one's who said the Lockhart Platinum comes in two models, one with and one without the ash pull handle. They said the one without the handle is an older model. Just passing on what Pitboss explained to me.This may be incorrect info. Im having issues installing the Ashtray for the kc combo. Unit has not ash brush. Any advice why thr tray can't be inserted?This may be incorrect info. I saw something similar on another site, someone suggested loosening a screw underneath to reduce the pinch point.

I've owned that model for almost two years, and I have never emptied my tray. The fan blows too hard and the ash ends up in the bottom of the grill. Bad design in my opinion.
