New Navigator 850G Owner

After I assembled and burned it in, I was so excited to use it I went get a whole chicken at the local WM, and did a test run. Spatchcocked and cooked at 400. Was cooked in 1.5 hrs, meat tasted great, but skin was not crispy. I think I will try and salt brine the skin overnight next time.
 
I have a Navigator 850G over a year old.
Have replaced 4 control boards and 2 grill probes. Waiting on igniter.
Does anyone have any ideas why they keep going bad?
