This happened to me with a PBP 1000 Laredo - After a day-long cook the next day I couldn't get it to prime. The auger motor sat and ticked. It is supposed to be loose (fore and aft) the auger is held by a nylon bot to a metal collar, the auger motor is connected to the auger itself by a screw/bolt assembly. The auger moves forward and aft in normal operations as it feeds pellets.
Somehow after the 12+ hour cook, the pellets and dust in the auger itself kind of bound together, and in the process ground down some of the gears in the gearbox (see photo below).
I called support and they send a new motor. I also got a replacement motor from Amazon (faster delivery) so I have a backup.
I've decided that I'm going to clear the hopper of pellets and pull the auger to ensure the tube is clear and not have a repeat.
In the process of tearing the grill apart I learned a lot about how it functions, the gear box is a complex fine reduction gear, and that fan spinning is transmitted to the auger shaft itself, you can manually turn the fan blade and the auger will move (VERY SLOWLY). I started watching the auger inside the firebox, and noticed it would initially spin, then stop (when the flattened gears aligned) and wouldn't budge until I removed the auger and pushed it back in (in the process moved the gear to not smashed teeth).
Contact support, I did it via the web chat and they ordered the new part for delivery at no cost.
