Outdoor resilience if covered - PBV4PS2

I'm in Cali and have pretty nice weather. I've got a Copperhead 7 and the best thing I did was by the damn rainproof cover. I've had the cover for 3 years and needed to repair one tear where the bracket for the pellet feeder wore through. All in all no issues storing it outside.

Does anyone keep their smokers with fancy electric controllers outside and covered? I keep my grills on the patio with decent covers, but they aren't electric. This thing is big enough that I wouldn't be able to easily move it back and forth for use. I would bring it inside for winter, but primary home would be out in spring summer and fall. . ..
I keep my PBV4PS2 inside our garage with a cover on it. Just roll it a few feet outside the bay door when I cook. Personally I keep covers on all our cookers regardless. We have an old cabin out back with power and I keep my PB Hammertone and a Masterbuilt electric on the porch. Covered but open to the elements. Have a Weber Spirit E-310 under an extended roof at our wellhouse. And an offset stick burner under a big car shed. All of these things have covers. I almost put it out on the cabin porch but was a little paranoid after reading so much about damp pellets etc.
actually it worked out good. Not really in the way and awful handy.
Even now I think I’d have a hard time keeping it outdoors even under a cover. But that’s just me.

I keep my PBV4PS2 on my back deck with the PBV4PS cover (I guess it fits both the 1 and the 2) here in Ohio. I'm guessing if I can keep rain off it, eveything might last a bit longer. Works great so far.

Well we had a crazy amount of rain in the north east. I’ve probably had the same pellets in the hopper for over 2 months. This morning went to use it and noticed that the pellets on the top by the controller side had swelled up. Wasn’t a lot, maybe some water got in there some how but the rest of the pellets were fine. Just vacuumed out the swelled ones and kept the rest, I did flush them out and then sifted them. Seem to be working fine.
