Overnight Rub

Hey all, do you guys usually put your rubs on a brisket and/or pork loin the night before you are going to smoke it or shortly before?
I put salt on a day or more early. Salt works to improve the meat. Nothing else does. You can put your unsalted rub on just before putting on the smoker, or earlier, if you do the salt first.

Always the night before, or if I am tight on time...that morning before it goes on the smoker later that day. Do almost the same for my Turkeys too...dry brine, wrapped in a turkey bag, day 1, Open bad and let it air for crispy skin, and rub on all the spices on and under the skin, Put on smoker early in the morning...day 3...grub by 4:00pm :)

I put a rub on my brisket and pork loin the night before and my wife wraps them in press and seal and sticks it in the fridge then take it out about an hour before I put it on the smoker
