hello All,
Last week i posted asking about the heat plate removal for deep cleaning around fire pot on the PBV4PS2 (Lowes model)
I mentioned last week the screws were stuck and the heads got boogered trying to remove.
TIP1 if you want to remove the fire plate, only remove the 4 for larger screws on the top back and bottom. I the four smaller screws on the fire plate actually hold up what looks like heat deflector/diverter. If you remove those 4 little screws the "difusser" will fall off the bottom of the plate and you will have to remove the whole plate to reattach.
Regarding the 4 main screws on the plate that hold it down and will get stuck. I ended up at Harbor Fright to buy a $10 impact screwdriver to get my boogered screw loose.
Upon vacuuming area under the "fire plate around the burn pot. I simply placed the plate back in place, and gave the 4 main screw holes a queef of lithium grease. I just barely tightened the screws to avoid angst when i do this again.
My photography sucks. click on thumbs for larger image if you care.
sorry
just wanted to help, if it does
PS i didn't find any of this in the "manual"
John

I use a #3 Philips with a 1/4" extension on my impact gun, I use some grease from the grease tray when I reassemble it on the threads of the screws, I have the same smoker and love it.
