Pit Boss 1600 Pellet Dump Problem

Anyone else having issues with their pellet dump on the 1600? I went to use mine for the first time and the catch pin on the trap door got stuck. I had to take it apart to get the plastic pin to go back down. It jumps the track on the way up and gets stuck every time. The whole catch assembly is a bit misaligned with the holes on the hopper which doesn't help. It makes sliding the lever up very difficult.

Mine doesn't get stuck but I always think it could work a whole lot smoother every time I use it.

I see now that mine looks a little bent. I am going to see if I can straighten it out and put some chamfers on the plastic pin to help it slide back to where it is supposed to be. I was so frustrated at the time I couldn't think of any of that.

Well it worked! I had to ream all the holes out well, especially the slide.

Operates like it is supposed to, smooth and easy.
