Wow it's too bad you had such bad luck. It is always nice to know exactly problems you are having and which pit Boss you were talking about. I build my own smokers but wanted to try something different with a pellet smoker 1150 pro too. I have been learning to use it and I absolutely love it. I have to admit it Cooks way different and the smoke is not as good but I am working on all of that. This thing is so easy to use and I bought it for a smoker not a grill. I also use a thermal works smoke thermometer with an air probe just to keep an eye on it while I am learning it. One thing I really like is how moist the meats come out. With my big wood smoker I have to use a water pan not in this thing! I find that once I get into my second hour smoking the temperature start to line up with in five degrees. Probably the one thing that irritates me about it is when I put the top rack on it gets in the way but the bottom rack! There is not very much space there. As far as the app I guess it is okay but I use a thermometer that has a sending unit and receiver. Still I find is a time goes on the temperature is on the smoker become very close.I liked the camp chef models, but they were always out of stock at Sportsman’s, so I got the PB from Lowe’s. No regrets in that purchase - heavy duty and seems to work well for me. It would be nice to have the Bluetooth & phone app to monitor cooks, but hearing all the issues, I think I’ll be happy with the grill as is!
