Pro series 4 v2 L42 code

I finished cooking a beer can chicken it had just finished its shutdown mode and at some point my child went outside and pushed buttons on my smoker I turn it off let it go through its shutdown cycle then later realize I hadn’t got the pellets out so I try to turn the smoker back on and it pops up L42 on the screen and won’t start up I need serious help

I have the same smoker. It always says L42 for a second or two when I start it up then goes into normal S mode.
Try calling PB tech service.

Mine says the same thing once there's power to the unit. Then just hit the on button quick and it's started in S mode.

that's just the firmware version.
It will always come on for a second when you first plug it in.
No worries.

Just be mindful of any "E" messages on the display. That means an error.

I actually did call PB seems my son had it in some sort of programming mode little turd never seizes to amaze me but had to do a hard reset on the unit and presto all is good I know it’s been a while since the previous post but wanted to see if any others were having the same issues and I know it says L42 at first start up but mine would not go past that it said L42 then completely shut down couldn’t do anything but it’s fixed now have a butt in there now can’t wait
