Hi All,
I recently purchased the Pro Series 1100 wood pellet / propane combo. The issue I’m having is the propane side does not get very hot. It hits maybe 450 on its own with the burners maxed out, and it’s been up to about 550 with a bunch of grease drip fires. I was hoping for 600-700 for searing. My steaks sit for 5 minutes with the burners maxed out and don’t even come out with any black or crisp (some dark brown sear at best).
Also, the pit boss website advertises “1,000 degree farenheit direct flame searing.” I’m not sure if that’s the wood pellet or propane side. It says the pellet range is 180-500 degree, so I assume the 1,000 advertisement is for the propane side?? But I’m nowhere near that.
FYI - my regulator is not tripped. It’s been tripped before. And it only got to 250. I reset the regulator and I believe it’s back to “normal” now as I mentioned it’s hitting about 450.
Any advice on how to get the propane side hotter?
Thank you
