Thank you so much still new to this craft and I was getting worried that I'm doing something wrong'Always leave your door open during start up. The Heavy white smoke is normal. As soon as you fan kicks in the Heavy smokecwill go away and you are safe to close the door. Then it will come up to temp.

Like they said keep the door open at start up, you'll hear the roar of the fire in the firepot. Then you can close the door and adjust your temperature.The inside of the smoker.
