Temperature issue

So no matter what temp I set me 500 lexington smoker at for example 200, 225, 245 it climbs to 260-270 it just started happening out of no where used to work and hold temp just fine any suggestions?

When’s the last time you cleaned the temperature sensor?
I clean mine after each cook.

Dawn dishwashing liquid and a dollar general sponge

I was using cheap oven cleaner. I'm now using Dawn power wash. Spray it on a rag and wipe it down. Don't bend it!

So I just put a brand new auger motor and temp prob on the smoker and still having the same temp issues it's running around 50 degrees about set point temp. Could it be a bad control board? I never had this issue until just recently.

That’s what I’d lean towards
They’ve had issues for about a year now

One cause of lack of temperature control is the start up procedure. You must set the controller to Smoke until the dashed line at the bottom of the LCD screen disappear before moving to a grilling temperature. I skipped the Smoke setting and had no temp control. My temperature ran away to a very high temperature but no damage was caused.

I clean temperature sensor and grill starts perfectly every time. Runs fine up to the desired temperature just fine. It will run for 30 minutes to an hour then it err’s out. Been going on for a while. I’ve changed the sensor three times. Any suggestions??

Check your harness. Clean the temperature sensor
Could be a controller if those are good

What harness? All connections are solid and tight..

Any icons flashing along with the ERR. If it's the igniter icon, then could be igniter. Got one from Amazon. It was faster.
