on my unit it unlatches underneath and slides to the right and the whole unit comes out, I assume they will send me the whole sliding piece.

Mine is the same and I'll be the first to admit. That I only clean it out before I start a cook. Have noticed that the rust is scaley

Got the new fire pot and wow what a difference in how quick things cooked those rust holes must have been letting a ton of heat out.

So cleaning the boss today and noticed this in my pellet cup, wondering if that is causing smoke to get into hopper also notice of late it doesn’t get as hot as it used to maybe because it’s losing heat due to those holes.

The amount of heat I was losing form the rot must have been huge and I never realized it. When using as a grill the food cooks so quick, just did brats, they were frozen when I out on, did the initial burn off cranked the heat up to 500 and before the grill even got to 375 the brats were done and a bit too done….haha maybe 8 minutes which isn’t bad since they were frozen.
