Tough Decision on my next bag

Been trending toward Bear Mountain but my favorite Pitboss is Classic blend which consists of Pecan, hickory and mesquite.

I like Bear Mountain Apple blend and Gourmet blend so far.
Didn't make it to Tractor Supply this weekend -- will go next week to try BM.

I like pit boss pellets. Depends on what your like is my opinion. I like less smoke and like the pecan, charcoal and hickory best. I do not care for competition. I suggest you experiment. We all have different tastes and expectations. I will experiment with other brands as well.

I actually like PB too. My wife says she enjoys the smokes now more than with wood.

I'm going to give Bear Mountain a try and see how it goes.

I had been using a 50/50 mix of PB Comp Blend and Charcoal.

Been using these from the beginning. Just assume they are fairly good. Really like the smoke (mild) and the flavor (mild)

To be honest me and mamma had gotten to where we couldnt tolerate stuff off the charcoal grill any more and had stopped BBQIng. This stuff along with the Lexington has put new pep in our step ;)

Question du'Jor : Are these other choices that are spoken about in the thread incredibly better than this stuff???

It's all personal taste. I've read and watched dozens and dozens and dozens of reviews. Results are all over the place. I think the key is to ensure you're using 100% wood with no fillers or oils for the "flavor".

It's essentially the Pepsi challenge with more sodas on the table.

Some include the bark/cambium from the tree as more of the flavor resides there - at the same time, some don't like the flavor it can impart, nor the "clinkers" those pellets may produce.

The way bags are handled can cause issues as well. The big, commercialized brands, like Traeger and Pit Boss are found at every big box store. I bought a bag from Lowes where I bought my smoker. I had to go through a dozen bags to find one that wasn't open or pulverized from the 15 sets of hands on them from manufacture to me. That can be quasi-alleviated by ordering from smaller stores or sometimes online -- mileage seems to vary, especially with shipping costs.

I've used exclusively Pit Boss brand so far. I'm just in search of something that might be better.

I've read good things about B&B -- I don't have them around me.

I do know -- the very worst case scenario is I try other brands and flavors I don't love and go back to what I'm using now. I'll just be more careful about where I get them.

There's one in Orlando. About 30 mins away. I'll check them out.
You may want to go online and see if the store has it in stock. Availability is hit or miss. On a positive note Academy has a lot of interesting grilling supplies, so you can browse for other stuff.

I stopped and to tractor supply today looking for the Bear Mountain gourmet blend but they were out. So instead they had BM bold craft blend which I brought home to try
Just got back from our Tractor Supply. They only had one bag of Bear Mountain. But it was apple and that was one I wanted so I bought it. The cashier said they sell a lot of it. So it seems to be hit and miss. I want to try their Pecan. The girl suggested I call the main office since they don't list with their online orders.
