Uneven grill temp

I bought my new 1150 pro series 2 beginning of May this year. I called support and received an upgraded control panel. Installed with no problem. I am now having a 40 to 50 degree temperature difference on the grill. I have not really tried much yet, and it is very irritating with guests I'm trying to show the unit off to. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I have tried searching on here for help and either nobody has had the problem before or I'm doing it wrong.

Once you start up your grill, how long do you wait before putting the meat on?
I have a 820 and discovered that if I wait 15-30 minutes that the temperature will settle down
