I seriously considered not purchasing my 850 because it didn't have an external pot remover. I am glad I went ahead with my 850 because in practice it gives me the opportunity to go ahead and vacume the other excess dust, and clean up other surfaces. I also dump a few pellets in the pot to speed start up.Is there an easier way to access and clean the burn pot?
Is it just me? or is every ones grill covered in smoky grease residue so when I take it apart I just scrub it down hard with paper towels and presto, every thing is cleaned.I seriously considered not purchasing my 850 because it didn't have an external pot remover. It really doesn't take me long. I have a putty knife that makes quick work of it along with a plastic scour pad, some paper towels and de-greaser. Gloves definitely otherwise I would spend more time cleaning hands than the grill.I just scrub it down hard with paper towels and presto,
On the lighter side, I consider the smokey stains on inside of Pit Boss vertical a badge of honor. Is it just me? or is every ones grill covered in smoky grease residue so when I take it apart I just scrub it down hard with paper towels and presto, every thing is cleaned.
(requires trash barrel to be next to you, rubber gloves highly recommended.)
Intresting. Whats your process for this, time/temp?Primarily by a good burn off after a good old long smokey oily cook.
For sure. Forgot to mention the plastic putty knife. It really doesn't take me long. I have a putty knife that makes quick work of it...
My device has an H setting which is supposed to be around 420F. After a cook is done, I run the empty smoker up to H for 20-30 minutes or so, then do the shutdown.Intresting. Whats your process for this, time/temp?
On my vertical I do. After the burn off and wire brush treatment, I pull out the burn pot. Then rolling the smoker to the side of the drive way facing the yard I stand to the side and use my leaf blowers on a slower speed to get the residue out.Has anyone tried a leaf blower to blow into the flame ports?
