Very little Smoke.

Sorry to say , if you had done your research you would have known that pellet smokers don't have the same flavor as a stick burner. It is definitely not deception.......
To call this a smoker is very much deceptive. Maybe it was unrealistic for me to think it would cook just like a stick burner, but not unrealistic for me to think something called a smoker, would actually give it a smoky taste. We're not talking a milder smoke taste, we're talking next to no smoke taste. Don't tell me the research I should have done. The research confirms what I found out by my own experience, very little smoke taste, they should not be called smokers.

Have you tried the Pit Boss at the smoke setting for about an hour, then turning it up higher to finish off the cook? I'm used to WSM's and I have a Competitor. Granted you don't get that kind of smoke but so far I've been very happy with mine.

Coming from a stick burner to these you can't compare the two, my sticker burner gave significantly better food however at the sacrifice of convience. They all have their place once my kids are older and I have more time to myself again I'll be getting another stick burner.

I get plenty of smoke flavor out of my 1600. And unless you were the original poster then I wasn't telling you anything. The majority of people here are happy with their pit boss. If you are not then maybe you need to move on to something else. Good luck to you

They are not smokers they should not be called smokers should be called ovens I smoke my brisket on the Weber and after 3 to 4 hours I put it in the oven which is the pellet cooker for the remainder of the time……

Good suggestion. I kept it at the smoke setting for about 2 hours before turning it up to 225, as well as turning up the P setting to 6. I also kept a smoke stick going the whole cook. I was literally seeing smoke come out of the smoker just about the whole time. It did ok, but still just barely a smoke taste. To be fair, it's really an issue of pellets not giving off a type of smoke which permeates the meet. I'm going to try some different pellets which they say tend to have more smoke flavor. Thanks for the suggestion

I just got through eating some pork chops cooked on the PB. I did what I suggested to you and added the smoke tube. Chops had enough smoke flavor for me and the wife....we enjoyed it. Found too that using the smoke tube I had to light it and let it burn for about 10 minutes before putting in the PB. Hope this adds a little to your next smoke.

Same here after about 10 they are churning out smoke then they go in the PB. Occasionally I have to blow out the flame and then they go into smoke mode.
