What's your cleaning process

Yeah I have some of those copper mats and use them with fish or kabobs to keep it from falling off. They work very well but I have heard not to use them at high heat. So far I haven't used them over 300. Most of the time I use them while on a much lower setting.

Am I supposed to clean it?
Ok, that was a little sarcastic, yet it is pretty close.

When I start it, I slide open the sear grate and look at the firebox. If it needs cleaning I'll clean it. Sometimes I'll just blow-out the firebox with my hand bellows and scoop some ash off the sides. I'll shop vac it out occasionally.

I'll brush the grates off before I put meat on if they look like they need it, but otherwise I just let it cook on.
