🔥 What's Smoking/Cooking on your Pit Boss?

This happens where the pellets feeding into the auger create a sink hole or vortex in the hopper. I simply move the pellets around throughout the cook to make sure that the auger is being fed. I'm sure some of the geeks on here have a fix, but I haven't seen a reliable one yet.

I think I remember someone talking about a vibrating mechanism that would prevent this. Ok, I know what some of you are thinking already... ;)
It's called a broom stick!

Tri trip on at 8 am. Hesitant to open app after all the chatter. Seems to have updated on its is and working. Auger light not in sync with control, no big deal. Miss not having 275 deg as option as I need to run at about 25 deg higher than what temp I want it at. Neighbor just bought same unit and control is in 10 deg increments. The graphs looks interesting. No way to reset or restart each cook. U can see where I made wings yesterday and cranked to 400 at the end. We will see.

First, let me just say ROLL TIDE!! (Pulling for the Tigers today too though!)
Second, how did you get probes to show up on the graph? Mine only shows the grill temp even though I have two probes plugged in and working.

Probably just dumb luck. Putting on a pork butt tonight. Will see what the app does this time. Geaux Tigers 🐅.

Welcome to the group!!
I used to live on lake Bridgeport but reside at lake fork now.

Pork Butt going on at 10 tonight at 200 deg. Plan is to let it run till early morning, then wrap. I’m sure I will be up a few times checking. Will have array of thermometers going to monitor. I may have a thermometer fetish 😳

I put my pork butt on around 9:45 last night, lumberjack apple blend in the hopper and smoke tube. Its been at ~150 til 6am. I just sprits a few times and turned it up to 250. Once internal hits 160-165 I'll wrap it and let it go at 250 til done. On a frustrating side note, my added smoke tube went out after what looks like only an hour or so last night, so i'm not expecting as much smoke flavor as i wanted :(

I always pack my tube full and I leave my torch on it between 4-5 minutes to insure it stays lit. Just a suggestion.

We are on the same pork butt trajectory! On at 10 pm last night with Mix of pitboss competition, apple and charcoal pellets at 225 deg which gives about 200 deg. Wrapped at 6:30 this morning at 160 internal. Bumped to 300 deg (250 in the box).

Small pork shoulder today. 3 pounder. No idea how long it will take but right now I have it on the smoke setting. Will wrap at 165 then rest in a cooler when it hits 205.

Bear Mountain Pecan pellets today. Trying to use them up. Back in March or so I bought a bag of the pellets they sell at Sam's Club. Haven't been able to try them yet!

Same for me. Just a 3 lb shoulder but it turned out awesome. Pecan pellets with a maple rub and a Jack Daniels rub. Used Pecan pellets in the smoke tube too. Got some smoke ring too. Wife said it was the best one I have done and these smaller ones don't take near as long. Maybe 8 hours instead of 12.
