Haven’t tried charcoal pellets at all yet. How do they compare to regular as far as functionality

I keep a bucket of them to mix in with other pellets. Adds some charcoal flavor along with helping form a smoke ring.

Why would charcoal pellets provide more of a smoke ring, are both not wood except one is already partially burnt ?

I’ve used the Pit Boss ones in the past. Not sure about the smoke ring but they do give a charcoal flavor. Just wondering if these are any better.

do you suck on them or crunch em up and put em on your ice cream?

I did read up on these and the reviews are good but say they burn much hotter than normal wood pellets. Most people mix them with other pellets or use them in the winter months since they burn hotter during cold temps.

They are much much better ground up on your ice cream.

I am on my fourth bag. My reaction is mixed as I really enjoy charcoal cooked beef. Isn't what I hoped for but more charcoal flavor than Pit Boss charcoal blend. I believe they burn hotter and works alright grilling burgers. Not near the same as pure charcoal though.
