Back ordered controller

I never follow their recipes. Mine came with some recipes as well (my grill is an older one) and at first I would try them out but found out I liked YouTube much better. People on there show you step by step and most everything is cooked at 250 or lower.

Hey thanks!! But wow! 250 or lower? I know it’s a smoker and that takes time, but if I have a cookout and cook steaks or burgers, how long would that take at 250? Am I just used to quick gas grills?? I don’t mind taking some time , but when I have pieces of chicken breast on the grill for over an hour , then have to bring it inside to put in the oven to finish cooking , I’m not really happy with this thing ! And I have had to bring food in after an hour or so and put in the oven or frying pan to finish cooking !! But don’t get me wrong , the few things that I have cooked for a long time because I have it at 400 and it won’t get over 350 , and it takes forever to cook, has been good!

And I’m not high jacking this thread, I’m sorry!! I just saw someone with the same grill and needs a new panel and I think after my new panel it’s still not right!!

Oh when doing burgers and hot dogs I use high heat. When doing steaks I use the good ole propane grill with pellets thrown on the grates (they are enclosed so they don't fall through).

Hi, new member here. I have an 850 pro and Silver Star digital electric vertical smoker (2 series) just over 2 months ago Pit Boss customer service ordered a warranty replacement controller after electrical problems with that unit. I'm still waiting and the only info I get from Pit Boss is that the part is still back ordered. Sure glad I have another smoker to use. Wondering if anyone else is having similar problems. The customer service folks have all been very nice but I am disappointed at this long wait.
I've been waiting on my control board since September 16th. They said it's in stock and on its way... I've yet to get it and I'm still without use of my smoker. Had it for 2 weeks before it died

That really sucks. They initially said mine was in stock too. At least I used mine for almost s year before it became unusable. At least I have another smoker to use while I wait. Still waiting. Think we'll get our replacements before Christmas? Hopefully soon..

Thanks all for the info, what concerns me is , over half of the recipes in the manual is for 375 to 450. Hell, mine won’t get over 400 degrees in 2 hours! The recipes acts likes it just simple to get those temps!

It's been 3 months now. Called Pitboss last night but they still have no updates. Still waiting for my replacement controller.
