Bluetooth connectivity (Need Help)

My 1600 would not hook up to wi-fi I tried several things with no luck, called Pit boss customer service they sent me a new controller still no luck, reloaded app still no luck. I know my router is strong enough as all my other wi-fi devices hook up in all corners of the yard however the Blue-Tooth hooks up just fine and I can monitor from inside the house !!! ( go figure ) so I'm happy !! remember your router has to be broadcasting on 2.4
anyway the suggestions of the wireless thermometers is a excellent suggestion , ThermoPro also makes one called Temp Spike ( two dual read probes ) a bit pricy but would solve the problem and they have a 500 foot range !!! hope you find a solution.

Have you called customer support? It could be a bad controller, that's happen to me when my smoker was new years ago, swapped it out and it's been fine ever since.
Yep! spent about two hours on the phone with them. Ran through all the troubleshooting and they finally said "well just wait a week or so and try again". Like some magic was going to happen if I just waited......code for an update coming soon?? I'm hoping it will start. working after the eclipse next week! LOL

I'd keep calling until you melt their phone lines, that's no customer service. 877 303 3134 option 2

Oh, I will. It's been two weeks since they told me to wait a week. The next call will be interesting.

FWIW, I've tried ALL of the suggestions from here, thank you very much, so far the grill tells me it's connected to WiFi but the firmware update still bombs at 7%. I'm going to call sometime this week when I have 2-3 hours to waste. If not resolved then I'll just forget about the bluetooth/WiFi and operate the grill manually. At this point, I'm not sure I'd trust the app anyway!!
