Controlling with Wifi or Bluetooth

New firmware and app update killed my connectivity. Was on phone with PB support last week. They sent new board. Installed and as soon as the firmware updated, problems started. On phone yesterday with PB support for 2 hours. Agent referred it up the chain but no communication as to when, where, how any further tech support would come. I just have to wait and try again next week. Running a PB1150PS2.

Even moved the grill to within 10-15 of router, no joy. Reboot router, nada.

I didn't mention this above as I don't want to look like an advertiser.
I purchased the 4-probe Typhur from Amazon and am very impressed with it.
Each probe has 5 temp sensors for in the meat plus an ambient temp sensor. The base goes by which ever of the meat temp sensors reads the lowest temp. No more having to get the probe in exactly the right place to read the lowest temp. The probes are wireless and communicate to a "Base" that has its own display, plus it connects through your wireless router so you can use a phone app that shows more detail.

There seems to be a reoccurring pattern with the coms PB has. It was pretty evident to me before I plugged mine in the first time. It runs well out of the box and a year later is still blinking at me to be hooked up. Maybe the led will get tired and stop someday.

2 meat stick probes when on sale made life easy so I'm GTG.

The firmware update definitely killed my bluetooth connectivity ! Before the firmware update the app never disconnected, now it disconnects within minutes even with the phone right next to the grill ! Pit Boss does not want to acknowledge that they messed this up, but they need to fix it !!!!!!!

I have a first gen. Lockhart with no wi-fi option. The old app never had a Bluetooth connection problem. But this morning, I was starting a smoke on a standing rib roast and could no longer connect to the smoker with the old app. So I downloaded the new app which called for a grill firmware upgrade. That completed successfully and connected. However, Bluetooth will not stay connected even while standing directly in front of the smoker showing 3 bars on the app. I am so frustrated with this issue on top of others I have with this smoker. I am ready to haul it to the dump and never glance toward a pit boss again.

I to am having problems after the grill updated. I do have an older apple phone that I can get connected to it but it will disconnect on its own also. My android (the one I actually use everyday) wont hardly work at all. Sure we can all buy after market probes and things like that, but I bought the KC Combo mostly because of the wifi abilities and monitor it from work and adjust temps. So I really do wish someone will fix the issues. By the way- hello to everyone, I didn't even know this forum existed umtil today.
