Same issue here but my 4 series didn't even come with the latch, just 2 handles. Been 2 weeks and support says they have the latch but not the door heat filter and won't ship the latch without the filter.

What is the door heat filter?

Part number eleven. Looks like a piece beteeen the cabinet and latch. Probably to absorb some of the heat

I took a look in the manual for my model and I down see that part on the list.

The door latch finally gave in for my vertical. Called support. As noted by others before, none currently available and it’s unknown when they will be back in stock.
So I’m on the list to get one.

Hoping someone has found a replacement after-market latch that will work

I bought a PitBoss Vertical Smoker Pro Series 4. I have had it in my garage for about a month awaiting my deck to be finished. Went to move the smoker onto my grill and the door latching mechanism popped off. It appears that a small bolt inside broke. Called PitBoss they said they would gladly ship me a new latch but they are currently on back order and could not provide an estimated time of arrival. So..... I have a broken smoker and have never even plugged it in. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ace hardware has one, may have to slightly open the latch that clamps to the other side with a pair of vice grips. Been working for awhile now with no issues.

There is an assortment of styles. Ya might need a drill and some sheet metal screws.

I googled that right after my phone call and saw an assortment. Which I’ll likely go to.
Even though the latch is a minimal thing I have concerns about Pit Boss not being able to live up to the warranty in a timely manner. and the warranty was part of the draw to buy a PB.
This is the second time they couldn’t provide replacements for failing parts the other being faulty bolts which I had to come up with my own solution.

Yeah I’m worried about my door latch as well. It still works but I’m worried it will eventually give out

From early November until now. When I called in I got an discouraging response that at that time the latch was not in stock and the when they would get more was unknown. So 6 weeks or so but I’m glad I got it. I installed yesterday and have a Christmas cook on the schedule.

I’m thinking about installing a latch at the bottom of the door where i have a small chronic gap there. I think the door is a bit warped. So something like this may be in order.
