New Pitboss Grills App

Today I had extreme difficulty getting the app to fully open. It would just stay on the smoke and pit iss logo. I removed the app and reinstalled it without any luck. The app was completely unusable for me through a 7 hour smoke. And I tried at least 40 times.
Same as me, I just got in now and it appears once the latest recipes load the app loads. One logged in each page I went to needed time to “load” so I guess this app will be 100% unusable if pit boss servers are running like shit…how in the hell did they actually make things worse lol

Holy crap the update that went out 4 days ago actually says improved connection speeds 😂😂😂😂

You need to include a feature to control the grill by NOT USING THE APP! Your app is next to useless! All I need to do is turn it on/off and control the temperature. None of those functions requires your clunky damn app
I cant find the smoke It app? says i need app to use the temp function, what to do? Pit Boss Platinum Combo KC. says connected to wifi but no Bluetooth app???

Can you control the smoker with your inkbird?
Did your inkbird come included in the purchase of your PitBoss?
I think there’s a little misunderstanding. The Inkbird Cowboy1955 is referring to is an external meat thermometer with probes. You plug those probes into the meats you’re cooking for more accurate temp readings. You set alarms on that device to let you know when your meats reach the desired temps. I use ThermoPro - same deal.
(if I’m not mistaken….)

No I understand what the Inkbird is and does. But... it is being suggested as an alternative to the non-functioning PB app. The app is supposed to provide internal and grate temps (2-probes), along with operating temp control and power off option, which the Inkbird does not do.
I also use different devices to the Inkbird because of the failure of the PB app. But as with Inkbird all the devices I use will do is show me temps and provide audible alerts. Still without temp control and power option.
I use the 4-probe TYPHUR for meat and ambient temps and a thermopro for alerts.
Still, it would be nice to be able to adjust the smokers operating temps remotely.
But all said, I just walk out to the smoker to make operating temp adjustments.

Agreed!! How do you like the Typhur?

I like it a lot. Great range from the wireless probes to the base unit, 6 temp zones per probe (five sensors for internal temp and one external sensor for ambient temp), the base unit goes by whichever internal sensor reads the lowest temp to predict remaining cook time. The probe batteries last more than 14 hours per charge (that's the longest session I have run them so far). I did have one of the four probes get cracked, customer support replaced it without any hassle.
It is kind of pricey but worth it to me. I especially like having the 5 internal sensors, no more fussing with getting the tip of the probe exactly in the middle.

edit; one thing it does not do is give an alarm for temp too low, ie, flame out. However, if there were a flare-up, it does alarm for over-temp.

My INKBIRD does. I set it for when to wrap and when to pull it to let it rest 🇨🇱🇺🇸
