PBV4NX dead controller board, needs replacement but Pit Boss says "Out Of Stock". Where to buy replacement?

I have the same issue. It's just a shame that pitt boss does not have the boards in stock.
Got the copperhead for Christmas did 4 loads was very happy then no display 2 blue lights. For the hell of it checked fuse and it good. Been a couple weeks already and still waiting on new controller board.

I got the controller. Moved the wires in the connectors to match the old controller. Fired right off! Seems to be working well, but only just a quick test. Will try smoking something soon.
Unfortunately, the Bluetooth is not working. Maybe moving the wire connectors around killed power to that circuit, even though the wireless symbol is flashing on the controller. I mean, I didn't have Bluetooth to begin with the old controller, it just would have been an added nicety.

Hiya from Easter NC.
My PBV4NX Copperhead controller board died after 1.5 months. Pitboss has been a PIA with a warranty replacement. First, "Oh, we didn't complete the order" and then "Out Of Stock, You Have To Wait" at the warehouse.

Are there any alternatives to purchase or upgrade this control board? I think the SKU is 80174. Google search has been no help.

Thanks for any info.

Any update or pics on how you configured the controller? I'm having the same issue and PitBoss has been zero help with sending me a new board. I'm going on 2 months with a giant paper weight sitting on my back porch.

So you had to pay for another controller even though it should be covered under warranty?

I'd rather pay $50 on Amazon now and use my smoker again right away than wait another 2 months for one from them. I've contacted them numerous times, and they can't give me an ETA on when a replacement will be shipped out. I'll just keep the one from them on standby or sell it since this seems to be a common issue with this Smoker.

Having the same issue. Got the new board, looks to be the same as your new one. I'm curious, what did you do for the temp probe? It shows a small red and a small black wire feeding to the probe. Did you slice into the red and black wires from the new controller?

I just made an account specifically for this post.. I see there's another recent comment as well.

I got this same board in today and planned on swapping wires around like you mentioned. What did you do with the extra white jumper wires that are not on the original board? I can only assume you didn't use them, and instead just directly matched colors to the harness coming off the smoker? Hoping to hear your response.

I can't speak for him, but looking at it, I would have to say that he cut the plug off and inserted the black and red wires into the blue terminal. There's a slot for a flathead screwdriver to tighten once the wire is inside. I would leave enough wire protruding from the cut plug, just in case you need to reconnect the plug down the road. That is, if Pitboss ever figures their stuff out and actually starts sending out the correct board replacement under warranty like they should've been doing months ago.

So, I didn't get a response to my comment, so i decided to go about it myself.
I used the board you're referring to from Amazon, rewired the plugs, and successfully just completed a 2.5 hour smoke on a simple cream cheese dish. I did this short smoke while I was sitting outside and could monitor the smoker. I noticed zero issues during the smoke whatsoever.

I simply swapped the colored wires on the new board to match with the wires from the wiring harness attached to the smoker. A small flat head screwdriver was my friend. The extra white jumper wires, i just plugged into the empty slots in the new control board plugs. This left one extra plug that had two separate white wires going into it that were not plugged into anything. I then had to cut the black/red wire that goes to the temp probe, strip the wire jacket back, and screw it into the blue terminal. It's located in the same spot on the board as the factory one. Once everything was connected and tight, I simply plugged it in and ran it like normal. I'll be doing a longer 12hour smoke tomorrow.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
