Let me know when you get it....and if it works.....and you want to send me the old one...I can try to get that one to work as well. According to their tech support supervisor.....there are no upgrades for that controller....so you are getting the same one....just supposedly one that works.
Not sure if anyone here has seen this yet or not. Louisiana Grilles recently released a new vert smoker that looks identical to this one. Its controller supposedly does 5 degree increments. Why cant they use the same controller in the Pit Boss PBV4PS2 or at least update the firmware in the Pit Boss controller????

Whoa....it is the exact same grill.....but instead of $399 it is $689....eeeek...!! That is quite a price hike for the same grill. Maybe order one....swap the controller and then send it back....ooopppsss...I just didn't say that....!
I would call their Flame Tec number and see what the deal is....as well as follow up with Pit Boss.

The new controller that Pit Boss sent me has the 10 deg increments. Part # LP42352 is on the box.

Same here. First smoke today. Sirloin Tip Roast. Can't get WiFi to see MY wifi signal but it sees my neighbors, and I have STRONG wifi.

Call Pit Boss Tech support 877 303 3134 option 2. I had the same issue minus a neighbor, it was a bad controller. Very easy to swap out.

Two things:
1. They are upgrading the controller to have better increments....but it is still delayed as far as I know...but it is supposed to be out this summer. Will they update the old ones....not sure....but if ours happened to break(?)...Ahem.
2. If you have a friend with a Rec Tec....they can buy you a controller.....I owned one and bought a spare. I installed it into my Pro Series 4 V2.....and it is AMAZING...!! 5 degree increments....it gets to 350 in 18 mins and holds perfectly. Highly recommend this upgrade if you can find anyone....and if you do....message me and I can help you install it. It also has a RTD Offset.....so you can offset the probe temperature to read the same as the middle of the center grate. It is dead nuts on right at the middle of where I place the meat. I used Lexan so I could see where to drill the holes and then I spray painted with the "Hammered Metal Black" and it matches perfectly.

I'm trying to get a rec tec wifi controller for my Austin XL. Any ideas on how?Ok.....well if you get beyond frustrated with it.....then we can swap controllers....because mine works and I can try and fix yours. I am using the Rec Tec one now, so I am not using mine. Just hit me up if you ever get to the point of exasperation.
btw....mine works great without the Wife too.....LoL
I think its time for me to reach out to Pit Boss and see if I can get them to send me a new 10 degree increment unit since mine is still the old way and have been having some issues while trying to cook with this original controller. What are the odds this will be simple and not take an hour on the phone with them?
