Hi I'm trying to find an upgrade for pb austin xl in the UK. The original control board seems to allow temp swings all over the place. Many thanks.

Do you have access to the 80062 controller from Pit Boss? A couple of people have upgraded theirs with this PID controller from a Competition Series. It requires a little bit of sheet metal work, but other than that it should be plug & play. I'm hoping to do the same upgrade in the next couple of weeks as soon as I get some time to work on it.
