It does not say on the bag unfortunately, none of the blinds. Do I buy the competition blend from Lowes all the time and that does not have any of what type of wood is used.

Does anyone feel they get better flavor from straight bags like hickory as opposed to competition blend, I use comp blend but don’t feel I get that much smoke flavor

We all have different tastes. My advice is to experiment. I do not like competition but have a friend that loves it. I like charcoal hickory blend. However it seems each bag is different. Hickory trees will vary from tree to tree. I think getting same smoke from each bag is impossible. The only flavor I found that is consistent is pecan. Maybe luck. I read Pitboss has their own pellet factories now. Hoping for better consistency and product. I am happy with Pitboss pellets. I have Bear Mountain and have used store brands as well. Many people prefer Bear Mountain but I prefer Pitboss. I will continue to experiment.

Yeah I noticed on the hickory bag it says hickory blend so does that mean it’s not all hickory, all the bags say blend…. Cherry blend apple blend so are they mixed with something else?

Looked on Pitboss site says blended hardwood. Could be other woods.
