I had an issue with my grill I set it overnight at 220 for some pulled pork and got up this morning and my grill had shut off for the ERH error. I know it said that was a heat error but it was 40 degrees last night. Can the dripping or dirty grill cause something to catch fire and overheat? Or is there a part that is broken?

Welcome from Texas to the group!
Erh is temp probe issue. I use a INKBIRD and not the PitBoss probes.
Direct sunlight can cause overheating and that’s why I use a umbrella
Dirty grill and grease can cause a fire
I clean mine after each cook including the temperature sensor
Hopefully this helps you 🇺🇸🇨🇱
