I smoked some meatloaf yesterday for dinner and it was just so delicious. I accidentally left the container of leftovers out on the counter overnight until 9am when I woke up and walked out. My instinct and really common sense says I shouldn’t take the chance of putting it in the fridge and eating it later but it’s so good that I can’t help but think about it. Thoughts? Would it be safe?

When in doubt, throw it out. Not worth getting sick.
Yea this is a tough one to be definitive on. There’s so many variables.
We keep stuff in the fridge probably longer than a lot would.
W sometimes let stuff out overnight until it cools. That would be beef products.
Fish and seafood don’t get near that much leeway.
Then there’s my mentor from decades ago who’d let his pheasants hang by then neck in the basement. Once the bodies were ready to fall off he’d consider them ready to eat. Nope…not me.
