That’s what the app support told me to do Sign In with Apple. I haven’t had any issues since. I just use it to monitor temps. I had some weird things happen with the app but I’m always watching the smoker so I was able to correct it.

I’ll be giving that a try with the Apple sign in. Monitoring temps is my main goal as well. It’s a nice convenience.

I went from android to an iPhone, but following the gist of what you’re saying here I’ll give it a try and use the Apple sign on. I have 2.4 GHz availability.

Today the SMOKE IT app alerted me that my smoker had reached 230. It showed that the smoker was on and running. I called home and my wife verified that it was off and unplugged. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

what is the latest version of the app? My PB850II has the newest PID with the 10 degree increments up to 300 but my app only does increments of 50?

thanks, I guess I'll have to call support again and see why the app doesn't go in 10 degree increments like the controller does

I found it easier to just delete apps from ALL devices. Then drive it manually! No matter how I roll the dial. It does what want up or down.

Today it happened again. Smoker still unplugged. It makes me think it linked up to someone else’s smoker. I would switch it to 400 and then it would go back down to 200 at random intervals. I hope I didn’t ruin anyones dinner.

It was kind of wild. I had wings on my grill. I was standing on the deck looking at the smoker as the app changed temperatures.

I just had something similar happen today. Admittedly this is my first cook on the Pro 1150 with the BT/Wifi controller/Smoke IT and I could be still learning. Had the 700FB before. The burn off and the first 5 hours of cook were perfectly fine though.

Anyway, The after the I wrapped the butts, suddenly the app started changing from 250 to 220 by itself. I was also getting a bunch of notification spam saying my grill reached 220 and then another saying it reached 250. Plus the degrees of the chamber and probes would change back and forth every few seconds. I was using the MPC and Probe 1 ports on the grill(Probe 1 and 2 in the app). It would alternate from 250 chamber to 238, and at the same time Probe 1 would alternate from 167 to -- and Probe 2 would alternate from 169 to 177. It felt like it was alternating between my grill and someone else's. Then suddenly the app said it was off and I went outside and found the controller off. It has been fine ever since then. Almost like the other feller got pissed and said "F' it. I'm not grilling with this thing today" and turned his off. Which also then turned mine off.

I have no proof it was connecting to someone else's, but it sure felt that way.

Other then an hour of fighting that, it has been great though. I guess I will find out on future cooks if it keeps happening and then decide if I need to call the help lines.

My 1150 changed from 450 to 350 by itself and I was right next to it. The controller temp started blinking and I thought to myself that’s strange. I looked at the set temp and it was at 350. I manually changed it back to 450 and finished my steaks.
