Wood chips w Pellet Smoker?

I just bought a Pit Boss Pro Series Cabinet Smoker- I know the primary fuel needs to be from pellets fed into the hopper.

Is there a way to chip’s of wood (hickory, apple etc) I know they cannot be feed through the agree for fuel, but can they be put in a tin foil wrapper and set on the lower level w the meat? Other approach? What are the temp requirements?

You're probably better to purchase a smoke tube if you want more smoke. The smoke tubes you can use chips or pellets, lite it, and let it smoke.

Welcome! I use a pellet/wood chip mix in a smoke tube. Sometimes two!

Yes, pellets with wood chips. I did learn to soak the chips though. I found if I didn't I would have flames.
