I finally got an answer from Spectrum. I have to use their app and set it to 2.4 but it's only temporary. It only lasts 1/2 hour. I was able to connect but it was not much good. I purposely bought the unit for the wifi cell phone features.
I believe you meant 6GHz from a Mesh 6E router (eero). The app uses 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi and BT.Pit Boss 1600 Pro Series won't connect to 64GHz wifi. I was told I have to call my Internet provider and switch to 24GHx which is slower. Why does this require a slower connection? Im returning the smoker because of this. Anyone else have yhis problem?
What did you find not good about it? I also have Spectrum and I have zero issues with it. Please elaborate and we might be able to help.
Never heard of 6.4Ghz….but 90% of smokers on the market use 2.4Ghz. The reason is that the lower the frequency the further the travel of the signal. Most home devices connect at the 2.4ghz. It is slower and who cares for a smoker, vacuums or light switches. It also has a greater transmission distance than the 5ghz. The 5ghz is mainly used for tv and computers for the greater bandwidth. You should be able to set up dual networks using the 2.5 and 5Pit Boss 1600 Pro Series won't connect to 64GHz wifi. It only stays on 2.4 for 1/2 hr then the grill gets kicked off the network.
