New Pitboss Grills App

I was having the same issue of not completing the update. Try turning off WiFi on your device first then doing the update. Out of exasperation I did this and it updated. Turned the WiFi back on and it’s worked since.
I did everything possible multiple times to no avail.

Then today I updated the App to a new version and it updated first try. The app was the problem. I have it apart for cleaning so I cant do much. at the moment, but I'll see how it works this weekend. At least they're making progress with the app, which is promising.

Ok... Maybe I shouldn't have read this thread prior to my weekend... lol
I have a work function on Monday that I'm cooking 2 racks of pork ribs, 4 racks of Beef spare ribs, chicken breasts and a pork butt for.

Last time I used my 1150 Pro, everything worked great with the SmokeIT app.
Do I dare download the new app and try to do the update tonight when I get home? Or should I wait and use the old app for the weekend and wait till it's not something as important?

Also, I've got the first generation controller that can be sent in for the update to change how it adapts to pellet feed and the closer temperature ranges (right now as I recall it's 200, 225, 250, 300...etc. and the update fixes that) Does the firmware update that this app does fix that where I wouldn't need to send it in?

We are an android family... as that seems to make a difference....

I haven't seen the OP post in a while, have they lost focus on this already?

See if the old app works, if not download the new app. I think the old app has been disabled, but I could be wrong.

Are there alerts for the probes? If so I’m not getting them and all settings are on in the app and phone. Not getting when cook temp is reached either, alerts not working. I have an IPhone.

I notice the app developer hasn’t responded to many questions since the beginning.

Assuming this update works for Louisiana Grills models as well?
I've confirmed that it does NOT. LG owners must download the Louisiana Grills app (which appears to be pretty much a mirror of the PitBoss app). The PitBoss app wouldn't connect to my grill like the old Smoke-It app.
Also confirmed that the FW update that comes after the initial grill connection wouldn't work unless I turned off Wi-Fi on my phone. Then, after one retry, it completed.
Haven't actually done a cook with the new app -- that'll come later this week.

Like others, I would love to see the ability to directly input temperatures, set one of the probes to a grill/smoker temperature, and have temperature graphs to track temperature trends.
App installed and connected seamlessly on my 440D with the Wi-Fi control panel upgrade.

Ok well I was forced to do the new app. It does seem to work pretty well. My first smoke when I first used it on some chicken breasts it changed temp on me. Odd, but it hasn't done it since. The probe alarm never went off. Bit of a big problem there!

I'm in the ending hours of my second smoke and it's doing pretty well. You can manually add a temp you want the probes to go off, I'm hoping that they actually go off this time. I have a ThermoPro 4 probe bluetooth unit for smokes like this (I have 2 racks of pork ribs 4 racks of beef ribs and a pork butt on) and the alarm on that unit works perfectly. I really don't want to use 2 different sets of probes on most cooks. So I REALLY hope that they get the graph and alarm functions into the new app SOON.

so for those having issues on iPhone with not getting alerts, I think it has something to do with the latest update. I have the latest update and have not been getting the alerts, my friend does not have the latest update and he still is getting alerts, so i think something in the last update caused a glitch. My version ends with 3 his ends with 2. Only thing I can thinko of as to why at first alerts worked on my phone now they don't.

@PitbossGrillsDev I am extremely disappointed in the firmware update the app did to my Pit Boss Pro Series 4 V2 PBV4PS2 smoker. After the app did the required firmware update I can only increase by temps of 50F now. It goes ( S, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400). Additionally the unit can never get up to temp as it should. If I set it to 250 it only goes up to 220ish. Very unreliable now, It is almost useless as a smoker.

How do I update the firmware again to get my previous temperature ranges back?

I would call Pitboss customer support, that should not have happened.

App for iPhone started fine and ended fine. For some reason it lost connection mid smoke. Not sure what that was all about
